- Green Planning, Design, Construction
Services, Commissioning, and Management
Planning a large-scale irrigation system takes a specialized, focused expert,
who brings agronomy and horticulture into the discussions of rather precisely what the
irrigation system should be capable of performing. Certified irrigation
designers will challenge builders and developers to invest in quality, and to be
prepared to resist the temptations which may come from contractors as "value
engineering" ideas. While it is true that non-certified, non-specialists
tend to be anachronistic in their irrigation design practices, leaving plenty of
room for value engineering, it remains much more likely that recommendations
from an Irrigation Association Certified Irrigation Designer can be taken to the
bank. This way, cash-strapped school districts, HOA's, and commercial
property owners, along with their future maintenance forces, will have a fighting
chance to irrigate and fertilize common area plants according to plant needs for the life of
the landscape.

Excellence
- Water Balance designs irrigation systems at sports complexes,
schools, public spaces, community streetscapes, and freeway rights-of-way
as green engineered utilities. Effective and efficient
irrigation, with sensible treatment of plant nutrition via the
irrigation system, species-considerate balance of irrigation
laterals connected to common valves, proper robustness of system for
25-year life-cycle cost forecasting, and water wise, energy wise
monitoring, feedback and control that last. Areas of turf scaled to conform to
high uniformity sprinkler systems. Consideration of sub-drip
irrigation of problematically shaped grassed area.
-
- Specifications and construction documents geared towards
performance objectives, for insuring that systems at first
commissioning are of the very highest caliber, capable of the
highest practical water distribution uniformity possible.
System performance only degrades over time, so aim high.
